West Virginia Botanical Garden Walk

The sycamore tree has bark that peels off the trunk. It grows in low wet places.


Black Willow has long sword-like leaves and also grows in wet low lands.
Shagbark Hickory has scaly bark that peels off. Squirrels like the nuts.

Tulip Poplar has leaves like a tulip flower. It grows all through the forest.


Hemlock tree always has a droopy top and very small needles
